The home price free fall has ceased.  This is good news to many real property investors and homeowners.  However, according to Money Magazine the selling point is price.  Across the country and in general, lower priced homes are selling faster and luxury estates are collecting dust.  Sellers are to keep in mind the following (as published in Money Magazine, September 24, 2009):

Here is an update on the tax classifications for Maui Real Property.

In accordance with Sections 3.48.565 through 3.48.575 of the Maui County Code, the real property tax rates per one thousand dollars of net taxable assessed valuation for each class of real property is set as follows:
 

Through midyear, Maui residential real estate sales activity has zoomed upward, although prices have not.
In the first six months of 2009, there were 296 single-family closings. This year, 422, an increase of 42.6 percent. In the first six months of 2009, there were 407 condominium closings. This year, 666, a jump of 63.6 percent. Single-family prices edged ahead by 2 percent to an average of $768,866, but condo prices have fallen 11 percent to $756,119.
